Types Of Dried Apricots

i)   Sulphur dried apricots

Sulphur dried apricots are treated with SO2 in order to provide colour retention and longer shelf life. The colour of this type changes from light yellow to orange. The SO2 content is max 2000 ppm for European countries and between 2500-3000 for USA and others. The colour is lighter as the SO2 content increases.

ii)   Natural non-sulphured dried apricots

Brown dried apricots (dark dried apricots) differ from Sulphur dried apricots. The colour of these types changes from light brown to dark brown, because these apricots are directly dried under the Sunlight without being treated with SO2, and it is sweeter than the sulphur dried apricots.

Although many countries produce this fruit every year, Turkey and Afghanistan are famous for this fruit as it is consumed in large amounts throughout the whole world because of its amazing taste and purity. We can also describe this amazing fruit in one line: “Eat fresh, feel fresh”
